Inaugural Run is Huge Success!

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET: FUN! --- More than 400 runners, walkers and volunteers turned out to make the first ever Connors Hot Dog Stand 5k Wiener Run/Walk a huge success!

More than 400 runners, walkers and volunteers flocked to Connors Hot Dog Stand on Saturday-September 18th for the first-ever 5k Wiener Run/Walk to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore. 

The generous sponsors, runners and supporters helped raise thousands of dollars towards making the community’s goal of establishing a club in the Evans/Brant area a reality. 

5k Run Event Promises to be Huge Win for the Community

 The posters are posted, the T-shirts are printed, and the plans are in place. 

Our team of extraordinary volunteers and community partners have kicked it into high gear to provide what promises to be a fun and memorable event for participants, spectators and supporters alike. 

Created for the purpose of supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore, the Connors 5k Wiener Run on September 18th at 10am is guaranteed to be a winner for our community. With more than 200 runners and walkers coming from all over the country, this race is setting up to be “the one to watch” this weekend.

Evans PBA Steps Up as Major Sponsor

The Evans Police Benevolent Association (PBA) has signed on as the latest major sponsor of the Connors 5k Wiener Run to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore.

“This is a great event for our youth and the entire community. We’re proud to be a part of it and we’re very happy to support the formation of the Boys & Girls Club in our area,” said Lt. Tom George, president of the Evans PBA.

The PBA is dedicated to supporting positive community activities and their officers are eager to give back to the neighborhoods they protect.

They join a growing list of sponsors supporting the event and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore.

Official Race T-shirt Design Unveiled

Created to mimic the bib that racers will have pinned to their shirts, the official 2010 Connors 5k Wiener Run T-shirt design has been released with intentions for the shirts to go on pre-sale soon.

The white long sleeve Ts will sport the race bib design in “Connors Shamrock Green” on the front and the “Wiener Man” race mascot and sponsor logos on the back.

The shirts were custom designed by Tiger Schmittendorf for the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore and will be printed by All Stars Embroidery & Screen Printing — a major sponsor of the race.

Stay tuned for us to announce when the shirts will be available to pre-order online. The first 100 registered racers will receive a free shirt and a limited number of extra shirts will be available for purchase at the race.

Run/Walk to Benefit Boys and Girls Club

The first-ever Connors Hot Dog Stand “Wiener Run” 5k Race and Walk is scheduled for September 18, 2010 to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore.

Race registration is available from 6-8pm on Friday-September 17 and starting at 8am on Saturday-September 18 at the Hot Dog Stand located at 8905 Old Lake Shore Road in Angola-on-the-Lake (Town of Evans). The race will start at 10am and will also end at the Hot Dog Stand.
